See What You Made Me Do with Jess Hill Webinar

October 4, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Jess Hill is a Walkley-award winning investigative journalist who’s been reporting on domestic abuse for several years.

Prior to this, she was a Middle East correspondent, and worked as both a producer and reporter for various programs across the ABC, including AM, PM, The World Today, and Background Briefing. In 2019, she published her first book, See What You Made Me Do, about the phenomenon of domestic abuse in Australia.

This session will address the mechanics of coercive control: the techniques commonly used by perpetrators; how various abuses combine to create a system of entrapment; and how our systems too often end up colluding with perpetrators and facilitating their abuse. I’ll also be addressing the basic styles of perpetration we see most commonly, and how these perpetrators behave abusively in private and in public.
