| Advice in seeking help: |
| Seeking psychological treatment for the first time can be a daunting process so it can be helpful to consider the potential benefits of engaging. Whilst the benefits of seeing a psychologist will look different for each person, there are some common outcomes that people often experience from engaging in therapy. Firstly, it provides you with a safe and non-judgmental space in which to improve your self-awareness and get to know yourself better. When we work together, we can start to make connections between past experiences and present thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be getting in the way of your relationships or optimal functioning at work or home. Understanding these patterns can empower you to make changes and disrupt unhelpful cycles that may be keeping you stuck. |
Healthy Minds Geelong's vision is to create a positive culture of mental health across the Geelong region.
The HMG concept was born to fill the gap in local mental health support services and in particular the need for a dedicated local information hub to help connect the community to local services, navigate the mental health care system and ultimately empower people to look after their mental health.
